pest control for insects - Bed Bugs

Bed Bugs

Bed bugs are nocturnal and feed on human blood and other animal hosts. They appear brown or red in colour and adults have no wings and their body appears flat. Often found in bedding and hidden in cracks and crevices in the bedroom areas. Bed bugs are particularly common in hotel rooms.

Bed bugs are very hard to find and can be undetectable, the most common signs of their presences are blood spots on bedding and itchy bites on the skin. If you notice these symptoms its best to call a local pest control professional immediately, as bed bugs are capable of reproducing quickly and an infestation is easier to treat at an earlier stage. Female bed bugs can lay several eggs each day and can lay up to 400 eggs in a lifetime. They typically live for about a year.

We offer a two-part chemical treatment for the eradication of bed bugs. This is a two-spray treatment, often the first spray we would leave a 10-day break. This would eradicate all the bed bugs. On return the next spray will complete the treatment that might have not eradicated the hatching eggs.

Fleas

Adult fleas are normally 1 to 4 mm long, brownish in colour, without wings but with powerful legs adopted for jumping. Adult fleas live exclusively as parasites off warm bloodied animals. Female fleas can live up to two years, during which time they can lay up to 1000 eggs each. The females lay their eggs close to or on the infested animal. Soft furnishings and wall to wall carpeting also provide a relatively undisturbed for fleas to develop. Also, bare floors with cracks and crevices.

The most common signs of fleas are bites and pet excessive scratching, fleas are not thought to transmit any serious illness to humans.
To achieve control, the standard treatment for infection prenesis is the application of a residual insecticide, as a liquid spray the insecticide is applied to all floor surfaces. We would ask prior to treatment that all floor surfaces be hoovered and hoover bags binned outside and after the treatment not to be hoovered for at least a week after. We would also recommend that any pet be removed from the premises for 8 to 24 hours after the treatment and also be treated with a product approved for vetering use. This is a one-off treatment.

Wasps

All the wasps found in our area, with the exception of the hornet are very similar with black and yellow bands on their body and have two pairs of wings. At spring time, the queen will leave her hibernating area to find a new nesting site. These areas could be loft areas, barns, garages, sheds or trees. The queen will build her nest area with a papery material that she makes by chewing wood mixed with saliva most commonly called wasp paper. She would then proceed to build her nest population. Full capacity of a nest is around September, meaning the nest could be 10,000 strong. The nests will never be re-occupied.

Wasps can achieve multiply stings, although the wasp sting is not normally serious it can be very painful and in certain cases can cause a severe reaction.
We treat wasps’ nests with an insecticide dust. The insecticide can take around 1 to 24 hours to completely destroy the nest. We offer a 100% guarantee the job will be done.
